Defy Aging with Regenerative Medicine
Regenerative medicine is gaining popularity in the fight against aging. Anti-aging procedures are becoming the fastest-growing treatments in orthopedics, pain management, cosmetics, and many other specialties.
Frailty is a clinical entity that is independent of the morbidity and disability of the patient, increases with age, and has been defined as a systematic and progressive decline in physiological reserves and an increase in vulnerability to minor stressors; its main clinical manifestations are flaccidity and reduction of muscle mass and strength, slowness of mobility, reduction of physical activity and fatigability, among others, becoming an important predisposing factor to falls, disabilities, and hospitalizations of elderly people.
Due to the anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects of stem cells, regenerative medicine has aroused great interest, as an option to repair the damage caused by the frailty syndrome.

What Factors Contribute to Aging?
There are multiple factors contributing to aging, but the one common denominator is chronic inflammation.
Healthy inflammation is how your body’s defense mechanism fights against harmful invaders. Inflammation is why, when you cut your arm, the whole area turns red and becomes swollen and painful. Your body is sending an army of troops to inspect the scene and fight any threats that made their way through the skin.
In response to anything that damages your cells, your body releases chemicals that trigger a response from your immune system. The body will increase blood flow to that area and release all sorts of antibodies and proteins to help secure the premises. This inflammatory response is really helpful in the short term. It helps our bodies fight infections and protects us from harmful invaders.
This process, however, can be detrimental to our health if it lingers. This is called chronic inflammation. Inflammation that lingers actually harms our healthy cells, tissues, and organs. This leads to DNA damage, tissue death, and internal scarring. When our organs have scar tissue, they are no longer able to function properly.
Chronic inflammation is the culprit behind nearly every disease. According to a journal published by Nature Medicine in 2019, chronic inflammatory diseases have been recognized as the most significant cause of death in the world today, with more than 50% of all deaths being attributable to inflammation-related diseases such as heart disease, stroke, cancer, diabetes mellitus, chronic kidney disease, liver disease, and all autoimmune and neurodegenerative conditions.

Reclaim Your Well-Being
Aging from chronic inflammation is brought on by a variety of different factors, but here are a few of the main causes:
- Poor diet
- Lack of physical inactivity
- Stress
- Alcohol misuse or abuse
- Smoking
- Environmental pollutants and toxins
- Lack of sleep
- Infections
- Excessive Sun Exposure
- Chronic Diseases
Poor diet is a huge driver of chronic inflammation! We’ll go over many of the dietary causes of chronic inflammation, what it does to your body, and how you can move towards replacing those culprits of disease with better alternatives. Remember, healing is a process. It’s going to take some time to replace habits and maintain new ones, but you just took the first step. Simply becoming aware of what is going on under the surface is a powerful step in the right direction. You just shifted the momentum of your life from a state of disease to a state of health.
You can activate or deactivate your ability to heal, based on the food you eat. The goal is to remove the foods that trigger inflammation, like sugar and processed food, so that your body can be in an optimal state to heal. If your diet is highly inflammatory, your therapy will likely be less effective. The converse is true, healthy lifestyle choices enhance your ability to heal.

How to Improve Your Overall Appearance
Aging not only impacts us internally but also impacts our appearance! Our largest organ is our skin and what happens inside our bodies is also reflected in our external health and appearance.
As our body is subjected to chronic inflammation, cells die and mutate. These changes are seen as wrinkles, tissue discoloration, reduced elasticity, thinning tissue, reduced radiance, sagging tissue, etc.
If you want to improve your overall appearance, you must also focus on providing your skin and the rest of your body with the things that it needs to rejuvenate and remain young and healthy. This starts with basic nutritional principles.

The Effects of Nutrition on our Health and Aging
We all need to eat more fruit and vegetables. The more colorful, the better!
Research has shown that brighter pigments inside of fruits and vegetables are not only nutritional for us, but they also boost our bodies with important vitamins, minerals, probiotics, fiber, and so much more. Berries for instance contain antioxidants, called anthocyanins. These compounds literally have anti-inflammatory powers that combat disease!
In one study, individuals who consumed blueberry powder every day over the test period produced significantly more Natural Killer cells (NK cells) than those who did not consume the powder. NK cells are cells that your body naturally produces to help boost your immune system. Studies have also shown that regular consumption of strawberries has anticarcinogenic (anti-CANCER!) and antioxidant effects on our health, which improves circulatory markers for inflammation (AKA decreases inflammation) and also improves lipid profiles (cleans up that cholesterol!).

Beyond Lifespan: Embrace a Thriving Healthspan!
The primary goal of mainstream medicine is to extend your lifespan. Our goal is to extend your healthspan. Lifespan is the number of years someone lives from birth until death, while healthspan is the number of years someone is healthy without chronic and debilitating disease. Would you want to live to 100 with dementia, chronic pain, or unable to do the things you love to do? That is the difference between the two and why we focus so heavily on getting you back to optimal health.
But we need your help! We may be able to return you to an active lifestyle, but if you continue to base your diet primarily on processed food, and make other poor lifestyle choices, do you honestly believe that any gain will last?
At BioHealing, we provide you with the education and the tools to improve both your overall health and give you a more youthful appearance. We have advanced, innovative therapies and procedures that treat specific issues that may be causing you concern.
We also incorporate non-invasive, scientifically validated test to measure your current level of chronic inflammation and teach you how to improve your score. This will not only reduce your risk of chronic illness, but it will also improve your healing system, reinvigorate your appearance, and give you the best chance to live your best and fullest life!
